HPC Matters to Parkinson’s Treatments

Learn how high performance computing is making an enormous difference in personalizing medical treatments for some patients with Parkinson’s disease. By using high performance visualization systems, researchers at the Scientific Computing and Research Institute are using deep brain stimulation to treat several disabling neurological symptoms—most commonly the debilitating motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease, such as tremor, rigidity, stiffness, slowed movement, and walking problems.
